GIFT Debate Team

GIFT Debate Team is a group of students passionate about critical thinking. The team has a well-structured organizational framework, operating under a model where the coach provides guidance and the captain oversees operations. It features a leadership council, recruits members from undergraduate and graduate students across the university and provides training. Since its establishment, the GIFT Debate Team has actively participated in major competitions both on and off campus, achieving outstanding results. It won the third place at the 5th Ship and Ocean Cup Debate Invitational, the second place at the 2025 Shanghai Jiao Tong University New Speech Cup Debate Competition, and reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 Shanghai Jiao Tong University Freshman Cup Debate Competition. The GIFT Debate Team promotes learning through debate and clarifies principles through discourse, consistently demonstrating the rigorous, thoughtful, rational, and truth-seeking spirits of GIFT students.
