"MD-PhD" Dual Degree Program

GIFT introduces a MD-PhD Dual Degree Program in collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Focusing on the convergence of engineering and medicine, this program is designed to cultivate transformative leaders for the advancement of China's healthcare with global impact.

The program consists of undergraduate studies (Bachelor of Engineering in Health Science and Technology), and graduate studies (an MD degree and a PhD degree). Subsequent to their sophomore year, undergraduate students in Health Science and Technology program may transition to the pre-medical curriculum. This program aims to provide students with a robust foundation in engineering, medicine and interdisciplinary abilities. It provides cross-disciplinary courses, clinical practice courses, rigorous research and clinical training and internships. We are committed to cultivate future leaders with multifaceted competencies through deep integration of medicine and engineering.
