Major: Biomedical Engineering, GIFT

Faculty Mentor: Shuangjia Zheng

Yanjie Huang conducts research on biological foundation models and AI-driven molecular design. He is currently working on generative models for RNA engineering and is also a visiting research intern in Professor Yejin Choi's group at Stanford University.

Research Project

EVA: A Generative Foundation Model for RNA Design

EVA (Evolutionary Versatile Architect) is a large-scale RNA foundation model trained on more than 114 million full-length RNA sequences. With 1.4 billion parameters and an 8,192-token context window, EVA can generate and optimize RNA sequences for diverse biological applications, including tRNA engineering, RNA aptamers, and CRISPR guide RNA design.

Looking ahead, Huang aims to explore AI for Biology and virtual-cell foundation models, leveraging artificial intelligence to accelerate drug discovery and deepen our understanding of complex biological systems.
