Published at:2026-08-04

Minqiang Wang, Associate Professor at the Global Institute of Future Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), has been honored with the WACBE Rising Star Award at the 12th World Congress on Bioengineering, held in Changzhou from July 28 to 31, 2026.

The biennial award, presented by the World Association for Chinese Biomedical Engineers (WACBE), recognizes young investigators who demonstrate outstanding potential with innovative research and disruptive breakthroughs. Over the years, it has become one of the most prestigious young scholar honors in the Chinese biomedical engineering community.

Prof. Wang received the award for his original contributions in establishing universal recognition methods for wearable non-invasive biomolecular detection, developing scalable sensor recognition elements, and constructing a new paradigm for non-invasive detection of female hormones at extremely low concentrations. His research shows the future development of wearable health monitoring and precision molecular identification technologies.

The congress, co-hosted by Changzhou University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, brought together leading researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals from around the globe. The event showcased the cutting-edge advances in bioengineering and biomedical sciences and the growing trend of interdisciplinary integration.
