GIFT Center for Future Health and Intelligent Exercise Earns ISO Certification

Published at:2026-06-12

On 4 June 2026, the Center for Future Health and Intelligent Exercise (FITX) at the Global Institute of Future Technology(GIFT), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was awarded the ISO 9001:2015 international quality management system certification by ACM International Certification Limited, an internationally recognized certification body. The certification scope covers FITX’s scientific exercise and health management services. It is accredited by the International Accreditation Service (IAS) and recognized within the framework of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), and falls under IAF Scope 34 (Engineering Services and Scientific and Technical Research Services). This milestone makes FITX the first laboratory in China in the field of exercise and health to receive such international certification, confirming that its research quality, technological strength, and management processes meet global standards.

Established in 2025, FITX focuses on five key research areas: sports heterogeneity and chronic disease prevention, sports multi-omics and the “exercise pill” concept, 3D exercise vision and embodied intelligence optimization, digital health and sports robotics, and standardization of exercise-medicine integration with wearable technologies. The ISO certification marks a landmark achievement in FITX’s efforts to systematize and standardize the integration of sports and medicine.

The certification was conducted through two on-site assessments (28 April 2026 and 22 May 2026). The assessment team conducted a rigorous review on the center, including facility inspections, on-site inquiries, performance tests, and panel discussions. They also verified technical documentation, original records, and the actual operation of the quality management system.

As a leading research platform in the field of sports health in China, FITX will regard the certification as an opportunity to further enhance its testing standards and management capabilities, pursue high-impact original research, and contribute to innovation and development of future health and intelligent exercise.
