GIFT Achieves Laurels at SJTU's 51st Sports Games

The Global Institute of Future Technology (GIFT) delivered a standout performance at Shanghai Jiao Tong University's 51st Sports Games held on May 16-17 at the Hu Fa-Kuang Stadium on the Minhang campus. Seventy teams representing schools, departments, and affiliated units across the university participated in the parade-style entrance ceremony.

The GIFT delegation made an immediate impression at the opening ceremony. An AI cyberdog led the parade, drawing cheers as it playfully “bowed” to the audience. Behind it, students and faculty marched energetically, chanting the slogan: “Profound in knowledge, progressive with the times. We embrace cross‑disciplinary and industry-education integration with an innovative and bold spirit.” The procession demonstrated GIFT's educational philosophy of “Assess the evolution of frontier technologies, discern breakthroughs in emerging industries, and analyze the qualities of future leaders,” and reflected the college's vigorous and proactive atmosphere.

On the track and field, GIFT athletes secured multiple honors.

Yudong Huang – 8th, Graduate Men's Long Jump

Mixed team – 8th, Undergraduate Mixed 4x400m Relay

Besides the medal stand, GIFT faculty and staff members also took center stage by joining a group calisthenics performance. With high spirits and energetic moves, they became a vibrant highlight on the sidelines.
