Personal Profile

Jiayu Wan is an executive director of the future battery research center and an associate professor at Global Institute of Future Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University. He conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford University from 2016-2021, under the supervision of Professor Yi Cui and Professor Zhenan Bao. Prior to Stanford, he received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Maryland, College Park with Prof. Liangbing Hu (Now Chair Professor at Yale University). He received his undergraduate degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2011. His research interests are mainly in energy storage materials and devices, advanced manufacturing, etc. He has published more than 90 journals papers such as Science, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Energy, Nature Water, etc., with more than 13,000 citations and H-index 51, and his research have been widely reported world wide. He has received the Dorothy M. and Earl S. Hoffman Award from the American Vacuum Society and the National Scholarship for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Studying Overseas from the China Scholarship Council, and Future Faculty Fellowship from the University of Maryland, etc. He was recognized as Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers (2024), and Top 2% Scientist in the world by Stanford University (since 2020). He is a member of the youth editorial board of eScience, National Science Open, Materials Today Energy, Chinese Chemical Letters, Information & Functional Materials, Chain, Carbon Energy, and Rare Metals. He has been invited to give more than 100 keynote and invited presentations at international conferences, universities, research institutes.
