CAS Academician Yunqi Liu Delivers Keynote Speech at the 20th GIFT Distinguished Lecture Series
On November 21, 2025, Yunqi Liu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and The World Academy of Sciences, a professor at the College of Smart Materials and Future Energy of Fudan University, and a researcher at the CAS Institute of Chemistry, delivered an academic lecture titled "Intrinsic Flexibility: Materials and Devices". The event was attended by Chunyang Jia, Professor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China; Kun Lü, Researcher at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology; Jun Ni, Dean of GIFT; Tianshu Ge, Chairperson of the GIFT Council, along with SJTU faculty and students. The event was hosted by Ruxin Gao, a doctoral student from the class of 2025.


Tianshu Ge extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to Professor Liu. She highlighted his dedication to molecular materials and devices and his passion for education. Professor Liu has made numerous groundbreaking achievements and nurtured a number of outstanding scientific talents for the nation.

During the lecture, Professor Liu elaborated on the development, prospects, and challenges of display technologies, explaining the theoretical basis and the latest technological advancements in intrinsic flexibility. With a broad perspective and a detailed collection of data, he shared his insights into the future of display technologies.



During the Q&A session, faculty and students engaged in a lively discussion with Professor Liu focusing on topics including the stretchability of molecular materials, biocompatibility, and circuit design.

At the end of the event, Dean Jun Ni awarded Professor Liu a commemorative gift.
The thought-provoking lecture fostered deeper understanding among faculty and students regarding future display technologies, inspiring them to pursue research diligently, scale new heights, and commit to the mission of driving innovations at the forefront of future science and technology.
