GIFT Welcomes Class of 2025 Undergraduates

Registration of 2025 undergraduates was held on August 26, 2025. About 70 new students, filled with dreams and excitement, arrived at the Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) to embark on a new journey. GIFT rolled out a series of welcome activities to warmly receive the new cohort.

For this memorable moment, faculty and student volunteers had been fully prepared. With smooth and orderly guidance, the freshmen completed registration, received their campus cards, and dove into fun activities like mimicking the joyful expressions of "Puxiao Cow"—GIFT's mascot. Students also received thoughtful welcome packages which contained daily necessities and stationery, adding to their anticipation of university life.

The "Wall of Wishes" became a highlight where students shared hopes for their future. Many paused with family for their first university photo in front of the wall, capturing unforgettable memories.

In the afternoon, an orientation meeting was held in the lecture hall for parents of the freshmen. GIFT leaders and staff representatives introduced the educational philosophy, academic support and student development programs, followed by in-depth conversations with parents.

On August 27, Tianshu Ge (Chairperson of the GIFT Council) and Haibo Han (Deputy Chairperson) visited the freshmen dormitories. They chatted with students, learning about their expectations and needs, and offered encouragement for the journey ahead.
