GIFT achieves good results in 2025 National Natural Science Fund application
On August 27, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) released the result of 2025 project application review. GIFT obtained 8 NSFC-funded projects. GIFT persists in its efforts to wide-ranging interdisciplinary research, and always try its best to provide a high-quality development platform for young talents. To date, GIFT faculty members have been awarded 30 NSFC projects in the research field of 5 Departments, including Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Engineering and Materials Sciences, Information Sciences and Health Sciences. The young faculty members with international background rapidly integrated into the domestic research ecosystem, quickly expedited identification of their research focus within interdisciplinary frameworks. 80% of its faculty members under the age of 35 have received NSFC funding since 2023.
GIFT attaches great importance to NSFC funding applications, encourages faculty members to conduct free exploration and goal-oriented research centered on China’s major strategic needs and the cutting-edge scientific issues. It continuously optimizes the funding application organization work, provides helpful guidance and supports to the faculty members throughout the entire application process by organizing a series of activities such as application experience sharing, expert supervision, and categorized guidance etc. Moving forward, GIFT will stimulate forward-looking, strategic and systematic planning basic research, continuously build an interdisciplinary innovation system, and fully inspire the creative vitality of its faculty members, thereby providing strong support for high-quality development of science and technology.
