On June 4, 2025, China International Students Innovation Competition (2024) Summary and Commendation and 2025 Competition Launching Mobilization Meeting was held in A100 Lecture Hall, Student Center Building, Minhang Campus. Ding Kuiling, Principal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhang Zhaoguo, Vice Principal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhao Xin, Deputy Secretary, and other board members, leaders and responsible persons of relevant departments, affiliated units and related colleges and departments, as well as representatives of teachers and students who won awards in the 2024 competition, attended this meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Principal Zhang Zhaoguo made a comprehensive summary of the work done for the 2024 competition. He reviewed in detail the school's preparation, organization, and participation process in the competition, and affirmed the teachers' and students' active exploration and unremitting efforts in innovative practice. Afterward, he conducted policy advocacy on the work of the competition in 2025, clarified the work objectives and key tasks, and encouraged teachers and students to devote themselves to the innovation competition with higher enthusiasm and better conditions and to climb the scientific and technological peaks.
Undergraduates' creative group and postgraduates' entrepreneurship group respectively shared their journey and growth experiences at the conference. The college representative presented the experiences of team organization and content planning. The conference issued the Advanced Collective Award, Outstanding Organization Award, Outstanding Achievement Award, Advanced Individual Award, Volunteer Service Award, etc., comprehensively commending outstanding teacher-student teams and organizations, guidance services units, as well as individual outstanding performance and significant contributions in the competition.
In the 2024 China International College Students Innovation Competition, GIFT achieved outstanding results, winning three national gold awards in the industrial track and one bronze award in the international track. Four important awards were won in this commendation conference, namely: Gold Award for Outstanding Instructor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Advanced Individual Award in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Advanced Collective Award in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Services.
In his concluding remarks, Principal Ding Kuiling highly praised the outstanding achievements and domestic and international influence made by all units and the teachers and students of the school in the innovation competition. He emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship for the university`s development and the work of fostering virtue and nurturing talents, and encouraged all the students and faculty to continue maintaining a high enthusiasm for work and the striving spirit, and achieve even better results in 2025 competition.
