GIFT Faculty and Cadre Meeting

On May 30, the announcement meeting for the appointment of the vice dean of the Global Institute of Future Technology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held in Lecture Hall 200 of the East Wing of the Yue-Kong Pao Library.

The meeting was attended by Xi Lifeng, Member of the SJTU Standing Committee and Executive Vice President; Guo Fei, Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of the SJTU Committee; Ni Jun, Dean of the Global Institute of Future Technology; Ge Tianshu, Chair of the GIFT Council, members of the institute's leadership team, and faculty and staff.

On behalf of the university, Guo Fei announced the appointment notice of the vice dean of the Global Institute of Future Technology. Bao Hua has been appointed as the vice dean of the Global Institute of Future Technology.

Bao Hua delivered an appointment speech, and expressed his gratitude to the university and the leadership of the institute for their trust and support. Since participating in the establishment of the Global Institute of Future Technology, he has been dedicated to the cutting-edge exploration of cultivating interdisciplinary top-notch talents, continuously innovating the education model, and providing new ideas and solutions for addressing the challenges of the future technological revolution. He emphasized his commitment to upholding the original aspiration of an entrepreneur, fully promoting the talent cultivation and discipline construction within the college, and collaborating with all the teachers and staff to write a new chapter in the development of the college together.

On behalf of GIFT's leadership team, Ni Jun extended a warm welcome to Bao Hua's appointment and expressed gratitude to the university for its concern and support for the institute's development and construction. Professor Bao Hua has grown together with GIFT since joining in 2022 and contributed greatly to its development.

We look forward to seeing Professor Bao Hua continue to exert his work abilities in the future. We hope he can further enhance undergraduate teaching in the college with innovative ideas and achieve new breakthroughs by optimizing the training program, innovating teaching models, and improving the construction of the undergraduate "mentor system". We believe he can form a collaborative education force among industry, academia, and research, and thus elevate the undergraduate education and teaching work to new heights.

Ge Tianshu spoke on behalf of the institute and highlighted Mr. Bao Hua's exceptional organizational and coordination abilities, as well as his deep commitment to the construction of teaching and research work. She emphasized that the college will focus on careful cultivation of the first batch of undergraduate graduates, fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue and nurturing talent, and supporting students in their personal growth.

Xi Lifeng delivered a concluding speech on behalf of the university.  Global Institute of Future Technology shoulders the important mission of exploring the cultivation mode of future science and technology leaders and promoting high-quality development of education. We are confident that Mr. Bao Hua will draw on his extensive experience in both academic and administrative roles. We look forward to him actively engaging with valuable resources both within and outside the institution. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and integrating professional education with academic mentorship and everyday management, he can strengthen the connection between teaching reforms, innovation, and student growth. This approach will help establish a strong foundation for cultivating innovative leading talents, with both moral integrity and professional competence.
