From May 17 to 18, the 51st Sports Meeting of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held at Hu Faguang Stadium in Minhang Campus. This sports meeting implements the idea of“putting health first”, promoting Shanghai Jiao Tong University`s fine tradition of strengthening the body, attaching importance to sport, revering culture, and improving health, demonstrating the enterprising and forward-looking spirit of this top university.
More than 5,000 athletes fought bravely and brilliantly in the colorful competition events. GIFT organized nearly one hundred representatives of teachers and students to participate in the competition, showcasing the college's energetic and courageous spirit of bravely scaling new heights.

At the opening ceremony, a gentle breeze was blowing and the morning light was just beginning to brighten. The students of GIFT marched with firm steps and high spirits. Their resounding slogan, "Vast and profound, advancing with the sun, wisdom lights the stars, and we will rise above the waves and prop up the sky!" echoed throughout the venue. The resounding words embody the will to forge ahead, and the upright postures demonstrate the momentum of striving, showcasing the spirit and temperament of the GIFT teachers and students who dare to think and act, embrace all rivers and seas, and pursue their dreams among the stars.
On the sports field, nearly a hundred teachers and students vied with each other taking part in individual track and field events, including 4×100-meter relay, 100-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, long jump, and triple jump, as well as mass team events such as tug-of-war and long rope skipping. They were not afraid of the scorching sun, forging ahead against the wind, and exceeded themselves in competition, uniting their strengths and writing their youth together. With their actions, they interpreted the sports spirit of “healthy body and striving for strength”.
