With strong interdisciplinary research strengths, the center focuses on the frontier scientific problems of large-scale energy storage systems and reliability, leads the development of theoretical and technological systems, solves real problems in practical energy storage systems, and produces academic achievements with important international influence. To meet the extremely demanding requirements of large-scale battery energy storage reliability in long-time and complex service scenarios such as energy storage power plants, electric aircraft and electric ships, the center takes the lead in building cross-disciplinary technology systems and methodologies from the multi-dimensional aspects of materials, battery cells and systems to support the long-life and safe operation of future large-scale battery energy storage systems.
