Introduction
On October 12th 2020, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and CATL New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement in Shanghai to jointly establish the “CATL-SJTU Joint Research Center for Clean Energy Technologies” (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”). Responding to the deployment needs of major national strategies, and benchmarking the development directions of international cutting-edge technologies, the two sides gathered high-end innovation resources and established a cooperation platform for research and innovation as well as talent development. The Center aims to build itself into an important carrier in the transformation of key common technological achievements in the field of clean energy science and technology, and strives to break through the core technical bottlenecks and achieve a series of world-class independent intellectual property achievements as an industry-university-research innovation highland, with the vision to contribute to the new energy cause of mankind.

SJTU/GlFT-Siemens Sustainable Technologies Research Center
About the Center
The center was established by the cooperation between Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Global Institute of Future Technology and Siemens (China) Ltd. and a signing ceremony was held on November 30, 2023 . The center combines artificial intelligence, edge computing, Internet of Things, sensing, digital twin and other technologies to carry out technical research and talent cultivation in the fields of smart manufacturing, intelligent buildings, transportation and energy management; it is committed to becoming a scientific research and exchange platform that cultivates industry elites and has international influence.
The research center will combine the resource advantages of both sides, further strengthen the regional partnership with local governments and local key enterprises, explore the construction of “Sino-German Sustainable Technology” innovation ecosystem and the public technology service platform in the energy field, and jointly expand the innovative application and benchmarking demonstration projects with local leading enterprises, so as to form a “Sino-German Sustainable Technology” innovation ecosystem and industry demonstration effect in China.
