    Shanghai Jiao Tong University Global Institute of Future Technology Future Scholars Program Management Regulations

    Article 1 General Principles

    The Global Institute of Future Technology Future Scholars Program is initiated by the Global Institute of Future Technology and is a student leadership development program for undergraduates at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This program aims to support undergraduate students in participating in scientific research internships and practical activities, stimulate their enthusiasm for research, uncover their potential in scientific research, and cultivate students with research backgrounds in future energy technologies and future health technologies to meet the needs of future development.

    To regulate the operation and management of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University “Global Institute of Future Technology Future Scholars Program” and based on the actual situation of our institute, these management regulations are formulated.

    Article 2 Organizational Structure

    To strengthen the management of students in the Future Scholars Program, the following organizations are established: an Advisory Committee, an Academic Advisory Team, a Supervising Teacher Team, a Student Management Committee, and a Scholars Fellowship.

    • The      Advisory Committee, consisting of university leaders as advisors, includes      heads of departments such as the Academic Affairs Office, the Research      Institute, the Humanities and Social Sciences Office, and the Office of      International Cooperation and Exchange. It is responsible for reviewing      the annual project work reports and special matters.

    • The      Academic Advisory Team is responsible for reviewing the project proposals      and final results submitted by students, and providing guidance on the      day-to-day management of the Future Scholars Program.

    • The      Supervising Teacher Team is composed of high-level professors and experts      from various academic fields, both inside and outside the university. It      is responsible for guiding students’ research projects, including project      initiation and research progress.

    • The      Student Management Committee is recruited from the entire student body and      is responsible for the daily management of the program. It evaluates      students in the creation phase, prepares evaluation reports, and manages      organizational matters related to the Global Institute of Future      Technology Future Scholars Fellowship.

    • The      Future Scholars Fellowship is composed of past recipients of the “Future      Scholars” program, who assist with networking and creating an alumni      community.

    • The      Global Institute of Future Technology Future Scholars Fellowship is      composed of alumni of the program. It is responsible for organizing      events, promoting communication among alumni, and supporting the program's      development.

    Article 3 Program Objectives

    The objectives of the Global Institute of Future Technology Future Scholars Program are as follows:

    1. To      cultivate future-oriented talents with the capability of conducting      scientific research in fields related to future energy technology and      future health technology.

    2. To      encourage undergraduates to engage in scientific research and innovation,      enhance their research skills, and improve their overall scientific      literacy.

    3. To      foster collaboration between students and experts in various fields,      enhancing interdisciplinary communication and cooperation.

    4. To      provide undergraduates with opportunities to participate in real-world      scientific research projects, laying a solid foundation for future career      development and academic advancement.

    Article 4 Program Requirements

    The participants of the Future Scholars Program must meet the following requirements:

    1. The      program is open to undergraduate students at Shanghai Jiao Tong University      who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and show an      interest in research.

    2. Participants      must actively engage in the research activities assigned by their      supervising teachers and academic advisors.

    3. Students      are expected to attend regular seminars and training sessions as part of      the program.

    4. Participants      must submit project proposals and progress reports, and they must present      their research findings at program-related events and conferences.

    5. Students      are encouraged to contribute to the academic community by publishing      research results in academic journals or presenting at conferences.

    Article 5 Funding and Resources

    To support the program’s implementation, the following resources will be provided:

    1. Financial      support for research projects, including project funding, grants for      attending academic conferences, and allowances for research materials.

    2. Access      to research facilities and equipment at the university, as well as      collaborative research opportunities with experts in related fields.

    3. Opportunities      to participate in internships and research practices at both domestic and      international research institutions, as well as industry-related      companies.

    4. Mentorship      and academic support from faculty members, researchers, and experts within      the Global Institute of Future Technology.

    Article 6 Program Evaluation

    To ensure the program’s effectiveness and continuous improvement, the following evaluation measures will be implemented:

    1. Regular      evaluations of student performance based on progress reports,      participation in research activities, and overall engagement with the      program.

    2. Evaluation      of the program’s success in achieving its goals, including the impact on      students’ academic development, research skills, and future career      outcomes.

    3. Feedback      from students, supervising teachers, and academic advisors to improve the      program structure and content.

    Article 7 Final Provisions

    These management regulations will be periodically reviewed and revised to reflect the needs and developments of the program. All program participants, faculty members, and involved departments are required to adhere to these regulations to ensure the program’s smooth operation and success.
