发布时间:2025-03-13

In the sunny spring morning, the students of class 2411 at GIFT gathered in room 200 for their first meeting of the semester at 10:00 a.m. on March 7.

Under the guidance of professor XiangwenGao and careful planning by the class monitor, along with enthusiastic participation from everyone, the meeting went was held smoothly and successfully.

The agenda included updates on the college's operating space and GIFT Future Scholar Program. As always, there was a special moment for birthday blessings, leading everyone to reflect on their shared goals and aspirations for the future. The session was both informative and engaging, leaving students excited about what lies ahead.

At the beginning of the class meeting, professor Gao shared exciting details about the updates on the college's operating space. The new building has all kinds of functional areas: laboratory, open learning area, administrative offices, energy storage platforms and ancillary area. This isn't just a bunch of statistics - it means that our learning environment will be more diverse and professional!

Imagine: an open learning area buzzing with students as they gather to brainstorm and share ideas. Meanwhile, the administrative offices operate smoothly, ensuring that everything runs seamlessly for our academic pursuits. Not to mention the energy-oriented laboratory, which serves as an exceptional hands-on resource for energy research and related fields, offering students a fantastic opportunity to engage in practical learning!

Afterwards, professor Gao gave a detailed introduction to the GIFT Future Scholar Program. This initiative, started by GIFT, aims to cultivate undergraduates by enhancing their skills in scientific research, innovation, and global perspectives, providing a platform for students who have a passion for research to develop and thrive.

The Program is well organized, consisting of a Steering Committee, an Academic Advisor Team, an Instructor Team, and a Student Management Committee. The Steering Committee includes advisors from the university leadership and department heads, and is responsible for reviewing the program`s annual work report, addressing special matters, and participating in academic forums. The Academic Advisor Team is responsible for evaluating project proposals and closing results, while also providing guidance for daily management. The Instructor Team actively recruits high-level professors and experts from both inside and outside the university to provide professional guidance for students' research projects. Finally, the Student Management Committee consists of student members chosen by their peers, and its role is to manage the projects` daily operation, conduct process evaluation, write evaluation reports, and organize activities, such as the Fellowship.

The class meeting drew to a close with a heartwarming birthday celebration session. The students expressed their best wishes to the classmates who had recently celebrated their birthdays, as well as to their dear head teacher.

The birthday scene was filled with love! The students sat together in a circle, with bright smiles on their faces. Everyone expressed their heartfelt wishes to the birthday girls and boys, creating the warm and lively atmosphere.

When the beautiful birthday cake arrived, everyone's eyes lit up with excitement. The class sang a birthday song full of good wishes to the celebrants. In the flickering candlelight, they made their wishes and blew out the candles.

Not only did this celebration let everyone feel the warmth of the class, but also strengthened the bonds between teachers and students and among classmates. We hope that this warmth will remain and make our class even more united and friendly.

During the class meeting, professor Gao shared with us the recent developments in the college's planning, highlighting the GIFT Future Scholars Program. Listening to the professor, I realized how beneficial applying for this program can be for undergraduate researchers, and I could see the importance that the college places on undergraduate research education. Later at the birthday party, everyone shared their heartfelt wishes with the celebrants, and our class session wrapped up with a delightful cake-eating time.

Wenqi Wu:

As the monitor and one of the hosts of this class meeting, I felt the head teacher's genuine care for his students. He took the time not only to address the current challenges we face in our studies and daily lives, but also to share advices from his own experiences, and offered a practical path forward. One of the highlights was introduction of the “GIFT Future Scholar Program”. I also felt the positive and supportive atmosphere among classmates. Apart from a few students with courses overlapping, everyone was present and actively engaged in our first class meeting this semester. This moment reflected the strong bond within our class.

As one of the celebrants, I was even more touched by the warm and caring atmosphere of our class. The home can be thousand miles away, yet “family” can be close by. Whether it is from the head teacher's care for our learning and life, or the warm wishes from my classmates, I felt relaxed and cared for. This class session began with laughter and ended in joy, and I hope that our class 2411 will continue to create wonderful memories together.

This class meeting offered rich content and diverse information. The upgrading of the college's office space provided us with better learning conditions, and the GIFT Future Scholars Program provides valuable development opportunities for students with scientific research aspirations. Additionally, the warm birthday celebration reminded us of the strong sense of community within our class family.

We encourage students to embrace these valuable opportunities and keep exploring on their journey of scientific research. We believe the students of GIFT 2411 will tackle future challenges with even greater enthusiasm and a spirit of unity, making their college experience even more fulfilling and meaningful.
