On March 3, GIFT's Dean Jun Ni and Associate Dean Weiliang Xia visited the Shanghai General Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (referred to as Shanghai General Hospital) for research and exchanges. Jun Ni made a detailed introduction of GIFT's school orientation, focal points, progress in the construction of health direction, and the "4+4+X" medical-engineering cross-undergraduate-doctoral MD+PhD dual-degree program jointly established with the School of Medicine. He discussed the cooperation mechanism with the Shanghai General Hospital in scientific research, smart hospital construction, and other aspects. Associate Dean Weiliang Xia introduced the construction concept of the Aging and Oncology Research Center.
Dean Xingdong Zheng welcomed the GIFT's visit and made a systematic introduction of the basic situation, medical and scientific research characteristics, and high-quality development initiatives of the First Municipal Hospital. Representatives from both sides fully discussed and exchanged views on the cutting-edge progress in the fields of chronic disease prevention and treatment, anti-aging, etc., and found points of common interest in the intersection of disciplines and collision of ideas, laying a good foundation for the future establishment of a scientific research center, carrying out in-depth cooperation, and cultivating composite excellent medical and industrial innovation talents together.
