With their global vision and solid academic knowledge, the young returnee elites have closely linked the realization of their personal values with the development of the country and the nation. The third Forbes China 100 Young Elite Returnees list was announced in Shanghai for the third consecutive year. From the perspective of globalization, Forbes China and Fosmos Global have reviewed the history of studying abroad in the past 100 years and selected 100 young returnees under the age of 45 with “influence” and “growth”. Among them, 25 were selected in the “influence” category and 75 in the “growth” category. In terms of the field distribution, 71 were selected in the field of business and 29 in the field of culture and scientific research.
Personal Introduction
Jiayu Wan is currently the Executive Director of Future Battery Research Center, Associate Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of Global Institute of Future Technology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland and was a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University. His research focuses on energy storage materials and devices and the application of artificial intelligence in this field. With over 90 published papers in leading international journals like Science, Nature Nanotechnology, and Joule, he has received numerous awards, such as Highly Cited Researchers and American Chemical Society Energy & Fuels Rising Star.
Jiayu contributes his success to the careful guidance he received from his mentors and friends when he was studying abroad, as well as his work experience at Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Global Institute of Future Technology. Through his academic journey, not only did he accumulate rich scientific research experience, but also greatly practiced the ability to solve complex problems, which built a solid foundation for his future scientific research.
