Professor Yabing Qi obtained a bachelor's degree from Nanjing University in 2000, a master's degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2002, and a doctoral degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 2008. He conducted postdoctoral research at Princeton University in the United States from 2008 to 2011.
Over the past two decades, Professor Yabing Qi has made outstanding contributions to interface science and energy materials, and has actively promoted the continuous deepening and development of research in this field. He was awarded the Kao Science Award by the Kao Foundation for Arts and Sciences (Japan) in 2022, the JSPS Prize by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science in 2023, and was elected as a Foreign Member of the Engineering Academy of Japan in 2024.
He has published over 200 SCI papers in internationally renowned academic journals, with an H-index of 83 and a total of more than 20,000 citations. Among them, more than 20 papers are ESI highly cited papers. He was selected into Elsevier's 2024 "China's Highly Cited Researchers" list, has been consecutively named a Clarivate "Highly Cited Researcher" since 2021, and was elected as a Fellow of the Materials Research Society (USA), a Fellow of the American Vacuum Society, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK).
